Power and Placement

All the models in our catalogue are in the 8 W class. That power is designed for decorative accent and fill light; it should not be expected to provide the general lighting of a large room on its own. The best result comes from using crystal spotlights in addition to the general lighting: the flat light from a ceiling panel lights the space, and the crystal spotlights add the texture.

Cut-Out Size and Ceiling Void

For recessed installation, the diameter of the hole to be cut in the ceiling and the depth the fitting needs above it both matter. If the gap between the plasterboard and the concrete is insufficient, the fitting will not seat properly in its housing. When replacing an existing spotlight, measuring the old hole diameter is the most practical way.

Cleaning

Crystal surfaces show dust. Wipe them with a dry microfibre cloth or a slightly damp one; abrasive cleaners reduce the brilliance permanently.

How Many, and Where?

With crystal spotlights the aim is not even illumination but rhythm. Two or three are enough in a small hall, and an evenly spaced row in a narrow corridor. For the sparkle to be seen, the fitting has to sit above eye level and within the line of sight — in a layout that looks straight down from directly overhead the crystal surfaces are not visible and the product turns into an ordinary spotlight. Using a great many of them in the same room, on the other hand, dilutes the effect.
