Description
The Cage Floor Lamp carries the spindle-shaped cage of the Cage Wall Sconce onto a floor-standing lamp. The cage forms the body section and is split by its polished central band; above it sits a fabric shade 40 cm in diameter.
At 160 cm overall it puts light above seated height — the right height beside a sofa, in a reading corner or behind a desk. The fabric shade directs light up and down, while the cage below adds a second decorative layer. The weighted base is 25 cm across and keeps the lamp stable.
The socket is E27 and the bulb is your choice; the lamp is corded and plugs into a socket. Two finishes: Black for modern and industrial rooms, Antique alongside timber and classic furniture.
Pairing it with the sconce
Used together with the Cage Wall Sconce from the same family, a room gains a repeated design language: the sconce on the wall, the same body standing beside the sofa. It is the simplest way to turn lighting from a set of separate objects into one scheme.

Usage & Warnings
Use and care
- The lamp is designed for indoor use. Do not use it outdoors, in damp rooms or on a wet floor.
- Wipe the metal body with a dry, soft cloth. Abrasive sponges, bleach, solvents and alcohol-based cleaners dull the finish permanently.
- Clean the fabric shade with a dry brush or a vacuum brush head on low suction only; never wet or wash it.
- Unplug the lamp before cleaning or changing the bulb, and let the bulb cool before handling it.
Power and bulb
- This model is corded and plugs into a socket; there is no battery option.
- The bulb is not included. The socket is E27; use an LED bulb to reduce heat and running cost.
- Do not use the lamp with a damaged cable. Do not knot the cable or run it under a rug or through a doorway.
- Do not change the bulb without removing the shade — a hot bulb touching the fabric will scorch it.
Placement and safety
- This lamp is not wall-mounted; it stands on its weighted base on a level, solid floor.
- Keep it out of busy circulation routes, door swings and rooms where children run.
- Do not lay the cable across a walkway; it is a trip hazard.
- Keep it at least 30 cm away from curtains, sheers and other flammable materials.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 160 cm the right height for reading?
Yes. The lower edge of the shade stays above the eye level of a seated person, so light falls on the book rather than into the eye. Place it behind or beside the seat, 20–30 cm from the arm.
Is a bulb included?
No. The socket is E27 and the choice is yours: 2700K LED for a warm reading light, 4000K for something more neutral.
Will it tip over?
The weighted 25 cm base keeps it stable. Even so, avoid busy circulation routes and rooms where children run, and do not lay the cable across a walkway.
Does it look like the Cage sconce?
The body shares the same design language — the spindle cage and its polished centre band. The floor lamp adds a 40 cm fabric shade on top. Used together, the room gains a repeated design rhythm.
Does the shade colour change between finishes?
No — the shade is a cream/linen tone in both options; what changes is the body and base finish (Black or Antique). If you would like a different shade colour, contact us before ordering.
