Description
A corner is the most exposed part of a wall. A corner bead does two jobs at once: it gives the corner a straight, sharp line and it protects that line from impact.
Which type you need follows the finish. PVC mesh beads are bedded into gypsum — they never rust, so they suit wet rooms. Galvanised gypsum beads work under thin plaster, machine-plaster beads under thick applied render, and notched arch beads bend to a radius.

How is a mesh corner bead applied?
Plaster is spread on the corner, the bead is pressed in so the mesh is embedded in the plaster, and the surface is smoothed with a trowel. If the mesh is not fully embedded, a mark stays visible on the surface.
