Description
The Slim Wall Sconce is named for a line stripped of everything unnecessary. The body is a plain vertical band: an opal light bar inside, a fine metal case around it. It projects only 6 cm from the wall — narrow enough to pass at shoulder height in a tight corridor without getting in the way.
Light leaves the opal surface evenly and without shadows. Unlike the rod and lattice models that throw a pattern, this one washes the wall in a soft, continuous band. That makes it genuinely useful as well as decorative: beside a mirror, along a dressing corridor, on a stair landing.
Its restraint means it will not shout inside a busy scheme. Black and Antique emphasise that plainness and cost less; Gold, Silver and Rose turn the same form into a more decorative accessory.
Works the moment you open the box
The sconce arrives pre-assembled and ready to light. LED bulbs, a 9V battery, two wall plugs with screws and a spring terminal are all in the box — there is nothing else to buy. The on/off switch sits on the body, so you can control the light without a wall switch or a socket nearby.
As easy to fit as hanging a picture
Used with the battery, the wall needs no electrical work at all: two plugs, two screws, done. If you later want it hardwired, unplug the battery from its connector and wire the fitting to your mains using the spring terminal supplied. That flexibility is what makes this a real option for renters and for walls that are already finished.

Usage & Warnings
Use and care
- The fitting is designed for indoor use. Do not install it in a shower area, on an exterior wall, in a garden or anywhere exposed directly to moisture.
- Wipe the metal body with a dry, soft cloth. Abrasive sponges, bleach, solvents and alcohol-based cleaners dull the finish permanently.
- On models with crystal or acrylic parts a damp cloth is enough; dry immediately afterwards. Avoid hard water, which leaves limescale marks.
- Always switch the fitting off before cleaning or changing a bulb; on mains power, also switch off at the consumer unit.
Power and battery
- When wiring to the mains, disconnect the battery from its connector first.
- Use LED bulbs matching the socket type and never exceed the stated wattage.
- A weak battery does not cut out suddenly — the light dims gradually. Replace it with a new 9V cell of the same size.
- We recommend having the mains connection made by a qualified electrician. Faults caused by incorrect wiring are not covered by the warranty.
Installation
- The wall plugs supplied are for brick and concrete. Use plasterboard fixings on stud walls.
- Mounting it above eye level (roughly 160–180 cm from the floor) gives the up-and-down light its best effect on the wall.
- Before drilling, make sure there is no electrical cable or water pipe behind the wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it suitable for a narrow hallway?
That is exactly what it was designed for. It projects only 6 cm from the wall and will not obstruct anyone at shoulder height. Spaced two to three metres apart along a corridor it gives direction and makes the space feel wider.
Can I use it beside a mirror?
Yes. The light from the opal surface is shadow-free, which suits lighting a face. Note that the fitting is for indoor use only — do not mount it inside a shower area or anywhere directly exposed to moisture.
Does the light glare?
No. The source sits behind the opal diffuser and leaves as an evenly spread band. Unlike the rod models, it gives continuous brightness rather than a pattern.
Why do the finishes differ in price?
The difference is in the plating work. Gold, Silver and Rose go through a longer plating process; Black and Antique are finished with electrostatic paint. Function and dimensions are identical across all five.
Can it go in a stairwell?
It can, and it suits one very well. Its slim body means there is no risk of knocking your head on a landing. We suggest mounting them at even intervals, following the line of the steps.
