International price
Description
Plasterboard is a facing material; the frame behind it carries the load. The logic is the same everywhere: the U profile (DU, TU) is fixed to floor, ceiling or wall and sets out the frame, and the C profile (DC, TC) drops into it to form the member the board is screwed to.
Width decides two things at once — how tall the partition can go and how thick the insulation inside it can be. Material thickness (0.35–0.50 mm) decides how well the profile resists buckling: a thin profile needs closer supports, a thicker one holds a flatter surface with fewer.

Frequently Asked Questions
What spacing should the studs have?
600 mm is standard: a 1200 mm board then lands on three studs and its joints fall on a member. Where heavy loads will be hung, this drops to 400 mm.
Can I cut the profile myself?
Yes, with tin snips or a profile shear. An angle grinder is not advised — the heat burns the galvanised coating and rust starts at that point.
