Description
Despite its name, the Offset Wall Sconce does not build a perfect symmetry — and that is precisely where its strength lies. Two slim light bars attach to a central metal plate and are staggered against each other: one reaches up, the other down. The result is a balanced composition that suggests movement even on a flat wall.
At 50 cm it is one of the tallest sconces in the range and will not be lost on a high-ceilinged or wide wall. The opal bars throw light without shadow while the plate behind them drops a soft halo onto the wall. That double effect — direct light plus reflected light — adds depth to a room.
It was drawn for modern and contemporary interiors. Gold and Rose plates read as jewellery in warm palettes; Silver belongs in minimal and technical schemes; Black and Antique work against dark walls and industrial detailing.
Works the moment you open the box
The sconce arrives pre-assembled and ready to light. LED bulbs, a 9V battery, two wall plugs with screws and a spring terminal are all in the box — there is nothing else to buy. The on/off switch sits on the body, so you can control the light without a wall switch or a socket nearby.
As easy to fit as hanging a picture
Used with the battery, the wall needs no electrical work at all: two plugs, two screws, done. If you later want it hardwired, unplug the battery from its connector and wire the fitting to your mains using the spring terminal supplied. That flexibility is what makes this a real option for renters and for walls that are already finished.

Usage & Warnings
Use and care
- The fitting is designed for indoor use. Do not install it in a shower area, on an exterior wall, in a garden or anywhere exposed directly to moisture.
- Wipe the metal body with a dry, soft cloth. Abrasive sponges, bleach, solvents and alcohol-based cleaners dull the finish permanently.
- On models with crystal or acrylic parts a damp cloth is enough; dry immediately afterwards. Avoid hard water, which leaves limescale marks.
- Always switch the fitting off before cleaning or changing a bulb; on mains power, also switch off at the consumer unit.
Power and battery
- When wiring to the mains, disconnect the battery from its connector first.
- Use LED bulbs matching the socket type and never exceed the stated wattage.
- A weak battery does not cut out suddenly — the light dims gradually. Replace it with a new 9V cell of the same size.
- We recommend having the mains connection made by a qualified electrician. Faults caused by incorrect wiring are not covered by the warranty.
Installation
- The wall plugs supplied are for brick and concrete. Use plasterboard fixings on stud walls.
- Mounting it above eye level (roughly 160–180 cm from the floor) gives the up-and-down light its best effect on the wall.
- Before drilling, make sure there is no electrical cable or water pipe behind the wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 50 cm too tall?
On a high-ceilinged, wide wall it is exactly right — a short sconce disappears there. If your ceiling is under 2.6 m and the wall is narrow, look at the 40 cm Slim or Crown Crystal models instead.
Do both bars light at the same time?
Yes, the single switch on the body lights both. Because they are staggered, light leaves the fitting from two different heights and the wall picks up a livelier brightness.
Can I mount it horizontally?
Technically yes, but the design was drawn for vertical use; laid flat the staggered composition loses its balance. If you want a horizontal band of light, the Opal Tube model is the better choice.
How do I match the finish to my wall?
On pale and cream walls, Gold and Rose add warmth; on grey and white, Silver gives a cool contrast; on dark or navy walls, Black and Antique sit more comfortably. If in doubt, match the metal already in the room — handles, legs, frames.
What comes in the box for installation?
