Description

30x30 Pendant LED Gökyüzü Panel is a sky lighting solution suspended from the ceiling on steel cables. The panel is neither recessed into the ceiling nor fixed flat against it; it hangs in the air and you decide the drop height. No suspended ceiling is needed — it can also be installed on concrete, timber, beamed and exposed ceilings.

Do you have a high ceiling? This is exactly what a pendant is for. Illuminance depends on the distance between the light source and the surface: the further away the panel is, the more rapidly the light reaching your table falls off. In a room with a 3.5 m ceiling, lowering the panel by one metre increases the light on your table roughly twofold — the same panel, the same wattage, no extra electricity. You do not need to buy a more powerful panel; you simply need to bring it to the right height.

One product, every ceiling. Because the suspension cables are adjustable, you use the same product whether your ceiling is 2.80 m or 4.50 m. You set the height during installation and can change it later. Recessed and surface-mounted models offer no such flexibility.

More than a luminaire. A recessed panel becomes part of the ceiling and goes unnoticed. A pendant panel, by contrast, hangs in the air, adds depth to the space and becomes the centre of the room — even switched off, it is a decorative surface suspended from the ceiling.

It lights the area, not the room. The classic function of pendant lighting is to define a zone: at its small size it is ideal for highlighting a single point; it is used on its own above a coffee corner, a reading chair, a reception desk or a display island. Several panels can also be hung at different heights to build a lively composition.

Because the whole panel is visible when you look up, the sky effect is felt most strongly in the pendant model. For that reason it is particularly favoured above dental, aesthetic and clinical chairs — the patient looks directly at the panel, and the image of the sky creates a calming focal point.

The surface of the panel carries a high-resolution sky image produced with UV printing technology. The range runs from a cloudy blue sky to a starry night, and from flower and tree motifs to artwork of your own. Because the printed layer can be replaced, you can give your space a new feel later by changing only the graphic, without dismantling the whole system.

Fitted with Samsung LEDs, the panel provides even, shadow-free light distribution. Colour temperature options: 6500K cool white is the tone closest to the sky on a clear day and shows the blue of the print at its most vivid; it is preferred in offices, shops, clinics and meeting rooms. 4000K neutral white is softer; it gives a warmer atmosphere over dining tables and in restaurants, cafés and living rooms.

Where is it used? Living rooms with high or double-height ceilings, lofts and attic conversions, cafés and showrooms with exposed industrial ceilings, above dining tables and kitchen islands, meeting rooms, retail display islands, hairdressing and clinic chairs.

Usage & Warnings

Suspension Safety (Read This First)

In a pendant installation the entire weight of the panel rests on the suspension points. The suspension fitting must be fixed to a sound structural ceiling (concrete, brick, timber beam) or to a load-bearing structure.
Plasterboard sheets and suspended ceiling tiles will not carry a pendant load. Do not hang the panel directly from these surfaces; fix the screw into the supporting profile behind the plasterboard or into the concrete above it.
On a concrete ceiling the suspension plate is fixed with at least two anchors and screws. Use a drill bit matched to the anchor diameter and clear the dust out of the hole — whether the anchor seats correctly depends on this.
Square panels are generally suspended from four points, long panels from two or four. With a two-point installation, position the suspensions slightly inboard of the panel ends; this prevents rotation and swinging.
After installation, check that the panel is level and that the cables are under equal tension.

Electrical Safety

Before installation and maintenance, switch off the circuit at the fuse box and confirm with a voltage tester that the line is dead.
Have the installation and the electrical connections carried out by a qualified electrician.
Make the connection to the existing lighting outlet in the ceiling with a terminal block; do not join the cables by twisting them.
Make sure your installation has an earth connection.
Check that your mains supply is within the 220–240 V / 50 Hz range.

Drop Height

The cable lock works in one direction only: to shorten the cable you simply pull it; to lengthen it you have to release the locking mechanism.
In walkways and circulation areas, leave the panel clearly above head height; do not lower it to a height where someone could walk into it.
For use above a table, leave enough distance between the underside of the panel and the table top; it should not come directly into the eye line of people who are seated.
Avoid positions directly in the path of air conditioning, ventilation grilles or draughts from doors — moving air can make the panel swing.

Use

Dimmer compatibility: not every LED panel works with a dimmer. Unless your product is specified as “dimmable”, do not connect it to a dimmer switch. Incompatible use causes flicker and driver failure; such faults are not covered by the warranty.
Do not switch the lighting on and off frequently at short intervals.
Do not hang from the panel and do not hang any object from it; the suspension system is designed for the weight of the panel alone.
Do not look directly at the panel for long periods while it is switched on.
If you notice the panel sagging or tilting, or any slack in a suspension cable, cut the power and contact us.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Before cleaning, switch off the power and wait for the panel to cool down (approximately 30 minutes).
While cleaning, do not press on the panel or pull it downwards; do not put load on the suspension points.
Wipe the surface with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not use paper towels or abrasive cloths.
Do not use solvents, abrasives, or cleaners containing alcohol, ammonia or acetone.
We recommend checking the soundness of the suspension cables and the ceiling fixing once a year.

Disposal

At the end of its service life the product must not be discarded with household waste. Hand it in at your municipal collection point or to an authorised recycling organisation, in line with the WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU) or the equivalent regulations in your country.

Situations Not Covered by the Warranty

Installation by anyone other than an authorised service, inadequate or unsuitable ceiling anchoring, and unauthorised intervention in the product.
Hanging loads from the panel and any use of the suspension system for a purpose other than intended.
Use outside the manual, connection to an incompatible dimmer, and faults caused by overvoltage.
Any kind of contact with liquid, and use in damp/wet or excessively hot environments.
Impact, dropping, breakage and scratches, and damage caused by natural disasters.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a room with a high ceiling — will a suspended panel work for me?

Yes, and this is precisely where the suspended model performs best. Illuminance drops off rapidly with the distance between the panel and the surface below, so bringing the panel down noticeably increases the light falling on your table. In a living room with a 3.5 m ceiling, lowering the panel by 1 metre roughly doubles the illuminance on the surface — with the same panel and the same wattage.

How far below the ceiling does the panel hang, and is the suspension length adjustable?

With the standard suspension kit, the panel can be positioned at any height between roughly 0 and 150 cm below the ceiling. The cable gripper works in one direction only: to shorten the drop you simply pull the steel cable through, while to lengthen it you release the locking mechanism. You can also change the height after installation.

I do not have a suspended ceiling — can I hang it from a concrete ceiling?

Yes. The suspended model does not require a false ceiling; it can be installed directly on concrete, brick, plastered, timber and beamed ceilings. On a concrete ceiling, the mounting plate is fixed with metal anchors and screws of the appropriate diameter. It can equally be used in rooms that already have a suspended ceiling; in that case the suspension is anchored to the main structural ceiling above, not to the suspended ceiling itself.

Can it be hung from a plasterboard ceiling?

Plasterboard sheets and suspended ceiling tiles are designed to carry their own weight only; they are not designed to carry the load of a suspended luminaire on their own. For this reason the suspension must be anchored not to the plasterboard itself, but to the main ceiling above (the concrete slab) or to a load-bearing profile. It is essential for safety that your installer takes this point into account.

Will the panel swing — is it safe?

When installed with the correct number of suspension points, the panel remains stable. Square panels are normally hung from four points and long panels from two or four; in a two-point installation the cables are positioned slightly inboard of the panel ends, which prevents rotation and swinging. We recommend avoiding positions where air-conditioning or ventilation flow blows directly onto the panel.

Should I choose suspended, recessed or surface-mounted?

If you have a suspended ceiling and want a seamless look perfectly flush with the ceiling line, the recessed (lay-in T24) or clip-in version is right for you; if you have no suspended ceiling and want the panel to sit tight against the ceiling, choose the surface-mounted version. If your ceiling is high, if you wish to highlight a specific area such as a dining table or a kitchen island, or if you are looking for a decorative focal point, you should choose the suspended model. The panel itself, the LED wattage and the sky print are identical across all versions.
